About the role

The Director of Nursing (ASC) role is located at the Ambulatory Surgery Center, Spokane Eye Clinic, part of Prism Vision Group.

Responsibilities

  • Plans and organizes activities related to specific clinical services to ensure patient needs are met in accordance with all professional standards such as state, federal, and accreditory bodies.
  • Helps develop, implement, and monitor policies & procedures at the center.
  • Reviews and submits for submission and changes as they relate to center policy and procedures.
  • Captures and coordinates daily surgical schedules.
  • Captures and coordinates all facility staffing.
  • Adheres to all local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Supervises and collects all required records and reports.
  • Remains an active member of the center committees as delegated by the governing body.
  • Educates and carries out daily activities with regard to Infection Control and Risk Management.
  • Engages in benchmarking and quality studies related to the improving delivery of services/care.
  • Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of all areas within the center.
  • Interviews, hires, plans, and directs daily work.
  • Performs performance appraisals.
  • Conflicts/grievance resolution.
  • Oversight of the day to day Infection Control Program.
  • Coordinates on site visits for inspections, preventative maintenance visits, and consultant visits.
  • Coordinates with building management for the receipt of required life safety reports.
  • Provides patient care when necessary within scope of practice.
  • Maintains standards of nursing care and acts as a patient advocate.
  • Ensures the provision of all durable goods necessary to provide safe patient care.
  • Takes action to implement the nursing care plan to resolve any problems identified for the individual patient.
  • Utilizes supplies, equipment, and resources to contain cost without compromising delivery of care.
  • Reduces chances of nosocomial infections by directing the infection prevention policies and environmental safety practices.
  • Reports and documents all information accurately and timely and to the appropriate party.
  • Communicates and maintains a positive, caring attitude to all patients, peers, staff, and all other contacts.
  • Sets aside time to seek guidance, directions, and assistance where needed.
  • Completes all required local, state, federal, and accreditory reporting.
  • Assigned tasks related to credentialing and privileging.
  • Maintains staff time and submits applicable payroll reports.
  • Adheres to all center policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of Privacy Practices & Patient Bill of Rights.
  • Maintains knowledge of Infection Control & OSHA standards of practice.
  • Knowledge of centers Policies & Procedures.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an Accredited Registered Nurse Program.
  • Current unrestricted State of Washington Nursing License.
  • BLS, ACLS.
  • Minimum of 5 years nursing management experience.
  • Detail oriented and well organized.
  • Multi-tasks.
