ASC Certified Surgical Technologist - FT and PRN Positions Available

About the Role

We are looking for certified surgical technologists who are passionate about patient care to join our growing Ambulatory Surgery Center Team. This role offers work/life balance with no nights, weekends, or holidays.

Responsibilities

• Prepare operating room, ensuring all equipment needed for the procedure is properly disinfected, assembled, and in working order.
• Assist surgeon and surgical staff during procedures by passing sterile instruments, supplies, and sutures as needed without diverting attention from the operative field.
• Observe strict aseptic technique throughout the procedure and report any breaks in technique to the circulating nurse and surgeon.
• Isolate soiled or contaminated instruments and supplies to minimize the spread of infection.
• Receive specimens and prepare them for laboratory analysis.
• Clean and restock the operating room following each procedure.
• Maintain inventory of surgical supplies.
• Perform other duties and assume various responsibilities as determined by the Director of Nursing and Doctor(s).

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Current certification in Cardiac Life Support (BLS).
• Completion of a Surgical Technician training program and a minimum of one year of related work experience in an operating room.
• Current Surgical Technology certification.
• Membership in a surgical specialty society is encouraged.

Physical Demands

• Standing for sustained periods of time, stooping, grasping, lifting, talking, and hearing.
• Light work: must be able to lift up to 15 lbs regularly from floor to waist, 5 lbs from waist to shoulder, and 5 lbs from shoulder to overhead.
• Close visual acuity required for all activities.
• Potential exposure to hazards including bloodborne pathogens, communicable diseases, chemicals, steam, pressurized cylinders, sharp objects, and moving parts of equipment.

Personal Development
