Asbestos Staff Scientist

Job Summary

Develop understanding and be aware of project-related risk. Lead safety efforts for team and ensure team follows safety rules and guidelines. Ensure compliance with current regulatory standards and state licensure needs during project implementation.

Responsibilities

• Attend client meetings.
• Lead safety efforts for team and ensure team follows safety rules and guidelines.
• Create and model a safe work environment; demonstrate safety practices.
• Promote pre-task planning for all projects.
• Provide leadership, direction, and mentoring to staff employees.
• Analyze all technical aspects of subject area, define scope, select problems for investigation, develop novel concepts and approaches, and recommend major design changes.
• Full technical responsibility for interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating scientific assignments involving unique or controversial problems which significantly affect projects.
• Provide consultation on quality control issues.
• Identify potential clients in need of consulting expertise and sell the services of the company to those clients.
• Participate in the development of marketing strategies and formal presentations of qualifications to clients on various projects in area of expertise.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science or related science field and a minimum of 3 years’ related experience. Or, in lieu of a degree, a minimum of 7 years’ related experience.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• A valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history may be required.
• Required Certification: Certification in field of expertise required.
