Responsibilities
- Maintain and expand existing customer relationships in a current and appropriate condition while soliciting new business from the client base by promoting bank services and products to meet or exceed annual revenue and growth targets.
- Establish a call plan and work with a Trust Investment Officer to regularly call on the high potential clients and centers of influence.
- Interact with clients, resolving account problems with all areas of the Bank to ensure quality service is provided and clients’ needs are met.
- Provide customers with information and assistance regarding investment strategies and relationship management.
- Review accounts for compliance with internal policies and procedures, federal regulations, local laws, and legal documents.
- Interpret legal documents and determine both discretionary and non-discretionary distributions, acting with a high degree of independent judgment and accountability.
- Maintain and develop extensive client, professional, public, governmental, and internal bank contacts for communications, service, and counseling in bank trust and investment matters, serving as a key representative of the Trust Division to centers of influence.
- Maintain a high level of professional educational awareness in order to keep current on industry issues and regulations while also maintaining knowledge of trust products, services, policies and procedure to answer questions and resolve customer inquiries and potential problems.
- Perform complex administrative duties, which include Regulation 9 reviews, non-discretionary distributions.
- Monitor and approve overdrafts and prepare client reports and special projects.
- Cook up and approve outgoing wire transfer requests with an established approval limit, ensuring proper approval and documentation are obtained prior to submission.
- Understand and comply with bank policy, laws, regulations, and the bank's BSA/AML Program, as applicable to job duties. This includes, but is not limited to, completing compliance training and adhering to internal procedures and controls, reporting any known violations of compliance policy, laws, or regulations, and reporting any suspicious customer and/or account activity.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
Requirements
- Experience Required: 7-8 years of experience in trust administration.
- Required: Completion of Personal Trust Curriculum Level 1, 2 & 3 American Bankers Association or related training within 1-3 years of hire date.
- Required: Excellent knowledge of fiduciary management techniques, investments, tax, and legal issues.
- Required: Excellent knowledge of accounting principles.
- Required: Excellent knowledge of Bank’s products and services.
- Required: Excellent skills/knowledge with the trust accounting systems.
- Relevant work experience may be substituted for the Bachelor’s degree requirement.
- Relevant military experience is considered for veterans and transitioning service members.
- Credentials Required: Designation of Certified Trust and Fiduciary Advisor (CTFA) and/or Certified Financial Planner (CFP) or equivalent training and/or experience.
- Education Required: Bachelor’s degree.
- PREFERRED: Master’s degree.

- The essential duties of this job occasionally require the associate to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Able to travel overnight, unaccompanied, within the United States via automobile and air is required, on occasion.
- The noise level in the work environment is typically low to moderate.

Pay
Grade 17 Pay Range: $89250 - $111560 per year
