About the Council
The Hillsborough Arts Council (HBAC) is dedicated to enriching the community through creativity, culture, and the arts. It supports local artists, promotes artistic opportunities, and creates experiences that bring people together through creative expression. HBAC’s operating plan includes a diverse range of arts programs and activities throughout the year, such as exhibitions and showcases featuring local artists, workshops, classes, artist demonstrations, community arts activities, and opportunities for artists to connect with and support one another. Through these programs, HBAC encourages both emerging and established artists while providing residents with meaningful opportunities to experience, learn about, and participate in the arts. A unique characteristic of HBAC is its strong emphasis on community participation with local artists, serving as a bridge between artists and the community and making the arts an integral part of everyday community life.
About the Role
The Programming Volunteer helps support HBAC's public programs and events, from suggesting local artists to lending a hand on event day. This role is a good fit for someone who enjoys connecting with artists and community members and wants a hands‑on, low‑commitment way to support the council's cultural offerings.
Responsibilities
