Philosophy
The ensemble is committed to self-auditioning and primarily performs the major choral/orchestral masterworks, occasionally exploring other repertoire.Responsibilities
- Direct the Festival Chorale Oregon in performances of major choral/orchestral masterworks.
- Explore and incorporate other repertoire as opportunities arise.
- Develop and maintain a diverse and high-caliber roster of singers.
- Collaborate with the Board of Directors and staff to ensure the long-term sustainability of the ensemble.
- Pass the baton to the next conductor at the end of the 2028-2029 season.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of professional conducting experience.
- Experience leading large ensembles.
- Strong musical skills and knowledge of choral/orchestral repertoire.
- Ability to work effectively with a diverse group of singers and community partners.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Qualifications
- Advanced degree in music or related field.
- Proven track record of success in conducting and artistic leadership.
- Experience with choral/orchestral repertoire.
- Ability to inspire and motivate a diverse group of singers.
