Artistic Director/Conductor

Philosophy

The ensemble is committed to self-auditioning and primarily performs the major choral/orchestral masterworks, occasionally exploring other repertoire.

Responsibilities

• Direct the Festival Chorale Oregon in performances of major choral/orchestral masterworks.
• Explore and incorporate other repertoire as opportunities arise.
• Develop and maintain a diverse and high-caliber roster of singers.
• Collaborate with the Board of Directors and staff to ensure the long-term sustainability of the ensemble.
• Pass the baton to the next conductor at the end of the 2028-2029 season.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of professional conducting experience.
• Experience leading large ensembles.
• Strong musical skills and knowledge of choral/orchestral repertoire.
• Ability to work effectively with a diverse group of singers and community partners.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in music or related field.
• Proven track record of success in conducting and artistic leadership.
• Experience with choral/orchestral repertoire.
• Ability to inspire and motivate a diverse group of singers.
