About the role
The role involves developing advanced Artificial Intelligence models to emulate the space environment and ionosphere of Europa and other moons in the solar system. The AI models will be coupled with existing physical models and used to generate simulations on the fly, enabling Monte Carlo error analyses.
Responsibilities
- Build AI models to emulate Europa's space environment and ionosphere
- Couple AI models with existing physical models
- Analyze simulation results
- Disseminate findings to relevant scientific communities
- Collaborate with the Europa Clipper Science Team to apply AI models in preparation for Clipper's arrival at Europa
Requirements
- Doctoral degree in a relevant field
- Experience with Artificial Intelligence and machine learning techniques
- Knowledge of Magnetohydrodynamic Modelling (MHD)
- Experience with in-situ data analysis
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Qualifications
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, interdisciplinary environment
