About the role

RT Specialty, a division of Ryan Specialty, is a leading wholesale distributor of specialty insurance products and services. Our experienced brokers specialize in property, casualty, professional lines, transportation, and workers’ compensation, providing creative solutions to retail brokerage firms. As the Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Manager, you will create and deploy state-of-the-art machine learning models and algorithms for search. You will work closely with the Ryan Specialty AI leadership team to define and execute the vision and strategy for AI modeling, training, evaluation, and cutting-edge machine learning algorithm development. You will also collaborate with the AI platform team, federated product teams, and other stakeholders to provide modeling, framework, and prompt engineering support, accelerating AI feature development across the organization.

Responsibilities

• Lead staff members through service delivery transformation and develop AI support models.
• Manage the end-to-end machine learning lifecycle, from data collection and preprocessing to model development, deployment, evaluation, and monitoring.
• Derive metrics to demonstrate and measure delivery improvement and fiscal responsibility.
• Direct the overall deployment and activities of staff, facilitating resolution of issues impacting cost, schedule, or technical parameters of projects.
• Manage all deliverables and obligations related to AI application operation, maintenance, support, and release management for assigned application portfolio.
• Lead the development of road maps for key applications to ensure resiliency and added business value.
• Evaluate root cause technical solutions proposed by suppliers, striving to eliminate technical debt.
• Mentor and coach team members on best practices, code quality, design patterns, testing, debugging, and documentation.

Requirements

• B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent; MS preferred.
• 6+ years of experience building and scaling machine learning models in business applications using large amounts of data.
• 3+ years of experience leading an Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning (AI/ML) centric team and driving metrics-based experience improvements (preferred).
• Experience with programming languages such as Python, Java, C++, or SQL (a plus).

Pay

The target salary range for this position is $140,000.00 - $175,000.00 annually. The wage range considers factors such as training, transferable skills, work experience, licensure, certification, business needs, and market demands. Full-time roles are eligible for bonuses and benefits.
