About the role
This position serves across multiple inpatient units and provides one day per week of virtual programming serving siblings of patients within the Cancer and Blood Disorders Center. The employee will provide therapeutic art experiences meeting the age-related needs of patients, promoting normal growth and development, and optimal adjustment to hospitalization, illness, and disability.
Responsibilities
- Provide therapeutic art experiences for patients of varying ages and health conditions.
- Plan and direct activities for children and adolescents in a therapeutic setting.
- Engage with culturally diverse children, adolescents, and their families.
- Offer support and guidance to patients and families during their hospital stay.
Requirements
- Master’s in Art Therapy or related field leading to similar competency.
- Experience working with culturally diverse children, adolescents, and their families.
- Experience planning and directing activities for children and adolescents with various health conditions.
Preferred
- Board Certified in Art Therapy (ATR-BC).
- Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).
- Cultural awareness and ethics courses completed within the past two years.
