About the role

Chino Valley Unified School District (CVUSD) is seeking an Art Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. CVUSD is known for its award-winning educational programs, including nationally recognized marching bands, and has received numerous recognitions such as California Distinguished Schools, Golden Bell recipients, and National Blue Ribbon beneficiaries.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepares the room to provide a suitable learning environment and promote student motivation.
• Teaches knowledge and skills in art, art history, and/or three-dimensional art to secondary pupils.
• Provides instruction to develop aesthetic concepts and appreciations, and the ability to make qualitative judgments about art.
• Demonstrates techniques in activities such as drawing, painting, and modeling, using standard and/or teacher-prepared instructional aids.
• Develops instructional plans and organizes class time to provide a balanced program of instruction, demonstration, and working time.
• Instructs pupils in proper area and use of tools and equipment.
• Organizes storage areas and controls use of materials, equipment, and tools to prevent loss or abuse.
• Evaluates each pupil's performance and growth in knowledge and aesthetic understandings, and prepares progress reports.
• Plans and presents art displays and exhibitions designed to exhibit pupil's work for the school and the community.
• Operates equipment necessary to subject being taught.
• Develops weekly lesson plans and supplementary materials compatible with the basic instructional philosophy and curriculum of the District.
• Provides students with the opportunity to participate in daily patriotic observance.
• Maintains a clean and safe classroom environment, notifying the principal of any unclean or unsafe conditions.
• Makes students responsible for putting materials, supplies, tools, etc., safely and neatly away at the end of the class session.

Requirements / Qualifications

• Valid California Single Subject Teaching Credential: Art
• English Learner Authorization
• Copy of Transcript (All undergraduate and graduate coursework.)
• Credential Copy (DETAILED – NON EXPIRED copy from CTC website OR a credential status letter from your University with an anticipated date of completion OR proof of credential application. Credential must post by July 1, 2026)
• English Learner Authorization (If your EL is embedded, upload your detailed credential to satisfy this requirement.)
• Letter of Introduction
• Letter(s) of Recommendation (Two (2) letters of recommendation - must be signed and dated within the last 24 months. Only wet signatures and e-signatures will be accepted; names typed out in a stylized font will not be accepted as a signature. Letters from relatives are not acceptable.)
