Art Supervisor

About the role
The Art Supervisor (AS) is an active contributor to the creative team, taking full responsibility for concept and art/design development across various projects ranging in complexity and scope. The AS serves as a direct liaison between creative and junior/mid-level account team members, focused on answering strategic and creative expectations. With a solid understanding of FDA regulations and pharmaceutical promotion requirements across all communication channels, the AS ensures work adheres to brand standards and delivers a consistent brand experience. The role involves presenting and defending work internally and externally, monitoring the workload of direct reports, and leading design/art direction to elevate the team’s output.
Responsibilities
- Lead and elevate art/design across the team, adding value to projects.
- Provide constructive feedback to junior-level creatives to advance both copy and art.
- Develop strong conceptual skills to deliver a wide range of creative solutions.
- Direct art across projects of varying scope, complexity, and channels to create a cohesive brand experience.
- Execute design work across digital and print formats using Figma and Adobe InDesign.
- Estimate individual hours for oneself and direct reports on diverse projects.
- Apply advanced design principles to distill complex scientific information into compelling, clear data visualizations.
- Adhere to file-building/management best practices and The One Intouch Process.
- Prioritize utilization and meet targets for oneself and direct reports.
- Apply accessibility best practices to all work.
- Mentor and grow junior team members, expanding their industry knowledge.
- Develop knowledge of clients’ businesses and the impact of creative work.
- Collaborate proactively with planning, UX, and development teams to ensure alignment.
- Build strong relationships with creative, account management, product management, production, studio, and cross-functional teams.
- Confidently present and sell ideas to clients.
- Contribute to new business efforts.
- Develop multichannel creative that demonstrates conceptual thinking, strategic/business acumen, and finely crafted designs.
- Leverage emerging AI tools to support and elevate creative work.
- Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion through continuous development and inclusive behaviors.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience in art direction/design.
- Proficiency in Figma and Adobe InDesign.
- Experience with pharmaceutical promotion and FDA regulations.
- Strong conceptual and strategic skills.
- Ability to lead and mentor junior creatives.
- Experience in multichannel creative development (launches, label updates, etc.).
