About the Role

We're seeking an Art Expert who is a true craftsperson and a technical leader responsible for ensuring our team operates with the highest integrity and artistry when completing a customer’s order. This role involves instilling best-in-class art safety procedures, role-modeling care and attention to detail, and driving customer satisfaction, talent development, and knowledge growth across our Art Technician and production teams.

The Art Expert will coach the team on each element of our production process, including art receiving, mounting, assembly, art care, and repair techniques. This role has supervisory responsibilities, including direct people management, and serves as a leader on the floor, fostering reverence for art and motivating the team toward success. The position is critical in helping customers entrust us with their most valued pieces and ensuring confidence in Framebridge’s expertise in art care.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the production team in proper techniques to ensure art and people safety, high quality, and customer happiness.
  • Serve as the in-house expert on complex and high-value art, as well as best-in-class framing techniques.
  • Manage and lead a team to success through servant leadership, people-first management, and a player-coach mentality.
  • Drive team and individual metrics by communicating job expectations, performance goals, and KPIs; planning, monitoring, and appraising results; coaching and counseling employees; and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Complete the production plan by scheduling and assigning team members based on business and talent needs, establishing priorities, monitoring progress, and resolving problems.
  • Maintain quality service by establishing and enforcing organization and customer standards.
  • Role-model art care and implement processes that embed art appreciation throughout the factory.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams on process improvements, growth opportunities, and product innovation.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert on mounting, framing, assembling, and repairing art for existing and new products.
  • Participate in employee certification programs and provide input for training materials, methods, and media.
  • Recommend improvements for quality, process optimization, and upskilling to the Operations Leadership team.
  • Maintain a consistent presence on the manufacturing floor to observe techniques and resolve team members’ problems by analyzing data, investigating issues, identifying solutions, and recommending action.
  • Fulfill work orders that require higher-level expertise and attention.

Qualifications

  • Strong customer focus and understanding of customer needs.
  • Deep appreciation and respect for the pricelessness of what we frame and what it means to customers.
  • Experience leading, managing, and coaching teams to achieve business goals and high-quality products.
  • Meticulous attention to detail, with an acute eye and steady hands.
  • Interpersonal savviness, using diplomacy, tact, and rapport-building across functions.
  • Understanding of different art mediums and the ability to discern framing or repair needs accordingly.
  • Versatility and ability to navigate ambiguity in a fast-paced environment.
  • Natural ability to lead via influence.
  • Association with Professional Picture Framers Associates (preferred).
  • Experience working in a custom-product business.
  • Knowledge of different materials, adhesives, and tools used in custom framing.
  • Degree in the arts (preferred).

Pay

The base salary range is $75,000–$80,000, with potential performance bonuses. Final compensation depends on experience, qualifications, and location.
