Art Instructor

About the role

The Art Instructor will provide weekly instruction and coaching through projects in a variety of artistic mediums and skill levels. Days and times are to be determined.

Responsibilities

• Develop engaging lesson plans and curricula for a variety of skill levels and artistic mediums.
• Provide instruction, guidance, and encouragement through weekly art projects.
• Maintain class communication with residents through email group(s).
• Cook with residents and Lifestyles staff regarding supplies, materials, and copies needed for classes.
• Collaborate with residents and staff to display resident artwork for our bi-monthly Art Exhibitions.
• Maintain the Art Class Bulletin Board to showcase resident artwork.

Qualifications

• Preferred: Bachelor’s degree, associate degree, certificate, or other formal training in Fine Arts, Art Education, Studio Art, or a related field.
• Demonstrated proficiency in multiple visual art disciplines and mediums.
• At least two years of experience creating, teaching, facilitating, or coaching in the arts.
• Preferred: Experience teaching or facilitating art activities with older adults.
• Dependable, enthusiastic, patient, and comfortable working with individuals with varying levels of artistic experience.
