Class Description
The Art & Design department at CCBC seeks part-time instructors for Art History and Art Appreciation classes at Catonsville and Essex, MD campuses. The position offers Adjunct level 1 compensation of $1,085 per credit hour.
Minimum Requirements
- Master’s degree in Art History; or
- Master’s degree in related field with 18 credits in Art History; or
- Bachelor’s degree in Art History with qualifying equivalency/portfolio and successful experience as a practitioner in the field
- Proficient computer skills and Microsoft applications knowledge
- Experience using classroom technology and learning management systems preferred
- Two years of teaching experience, preferably at a college level
Essential Duties
- Fulfills department and college responsibilities as directed by the program director and/or course coordinator
- Absides by College wide policies and procedures regarding classroom conduct
- Ensures instruction meets or exceeds standards established by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design
- Employs a variety of teaching strategies to meet a diverse student population
- Adheres to the scheduled time of class/lab
- Develops a course syllabus that is in keeping with program and College policies
- Safeguards that program specific evaluation methods are administered and completed in a consistent and equitable manner
- Affirms that evaluation methods are appropriate and effectively assessing the established course objectives
- Maintains monitoring of student performance on a regular basis and provides feedback within a reasonable timeframe to students
