Job Functions

  • Teaching Responsibilities: Instruction including hands-on and theory, classroom management, and administrative tasks that may include reports, syllabus and lesson plan development.
  • Achieve student accomplishment through regular assessments.
  • Maintain records of student attendance, grades, and progress.
  • Recommend approved instructional materials for the course.
  • Collaborate with other college areas like Tutoring and Retention to support student success.
  • Prepare reports in collaboration with the Division Dean for planning/reporting systems and/or accreditation bodies.

Minimum And Additional Requirements

  • Masters Degree in Fine Art/Art History or Masters Degree in a related field AND a minimum of 18 graduate hours in Fine Art/Art History is required.
  • Unofficial transcripts are required when applying.

Professional Development

  • Attend relevant professional meetings.
  • Represent the college positively in interactions with the community and with professional and academic groups at local, state, and national levels.

Job Purpose

Teach Art 101: Art History and Appreciation courses to students in all academic programs at the Technical College of the Lowcountry. Familiarity with digital applications is required to use our Learning Management System.
