Art Director (Corporate and Business Communications)

Location: Telecommute Job Type: Contract Compensation Range: $46 - 51 per hour We are seeking an experienced, brand-forward Art Director to lead high-stakes internal business communications, presentations, and client-facing reporting assets within an established brand ecosystem. Rather than reinventing core brand guidelines, this role is centered on elevating and expanding design within defined framework parameters-focusing heavily on conceptual storytelling, strategic visual communications, and directing creative execution. Location: Hybrid (Day 1 on-site & as needed near EY offices in Atlanta, Chicago, Cleveland, Dallas, Denver, Detroit, Houston, Minneapolis, Philadelphia, or St. Louis) Responsibilities: 80% Conceptual & Strategic Design: Translate complex business objectives into clear, visual narratives across high-impact PowerPoint decks, InDesign publications, and digital reports.10% Team Leadership & Mentorship: Guide, review, and direct the work of junior creative teams; lead ideation sessions and ensure high-level brand consistency.10% Hands-On Execution: Deliver print-ready assets and master templates using both traditional design tools and emerging AI exploration workflows. Qualifications: Experience: 7+ years of dedicated Art Direction experience within a matrixed corporate or in-house environment.Portfolio Focus: Strong portfolio strictly focused on business communications, internal reports, and executive presentations (candidates with purely consumer advertising portfolios will not be considered).Core Technical Stack: Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Adobe Firefly) and heavy expertise in Microsoft PowerPoint.Print & Production Expertise: Deep knowledge of production standards, offset printing, dye-sublimation, and prepress requirements.Brand Discipline: Comfort and skill in "working within the garden"-taking pride in pushing creative limits inside an established brand system rather than seeking blank-canvas redesigns.AI & Workflow: Hands-on experience integrating AI tools into early-stage concept exploration and prototyping; familiarity with Adobe Workfront is a plus.
