Art Director (Contract) – Remote
About the role
Russell Tobin is seeking an experienced Art Director for a contract opportunity with a leading global e-commerce and fashion retail organization.
Responsibilities
- Lead creative development for website experiences, digital marketing campaigns, email marketing, display advertising, and promotional initiatives.
- Manage multiple creative projects simultaneously, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
- Partner with merchandising, marketing, photography, and creative teams to develop engaging customer experiences and campaign concepts.
- Review and provide direction on design concepts, imagery, copy, and promotional content before launch.
- Create and oversee 20-30 web pages using Webflow and related design tools.
- Contribute to seasonal campaigns, sponsorship activations, and branded content initiatives.
- Analyze campaign performance and customer engagement data to inform future creative decisions.
- Ensure brand consistency across all customer touchpoints and marketing channels.
- Stay current on industry trends, digital design best practices, and the evolving fashion and footwear landscape.
Requirements
- 10+ years of professional experience in Art Direction, Graphic Design, Creative Management, or related disciplines.
- Strong portfolio showcasing digital design, campaign development, and web-based creative work.
- Hands-on experience with Webflow and modern web design principles.
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Figma.
- Strong understanding of digital merchandising, e-commerce experiences, and customer journey design.
- Exceptional typography, layout, and visual storytelling skills.
- Proven ability to provide creative direction while empowering designers and cross-functional partners.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, Advertising, or equivalent professional experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting fashion, footwear, retail, lifestyle, or consumer brands.
- Familiarity with HTML/CSS and web production workflows.
- Experience managing creative projects from concept through launch.
- Able to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution.
