Snap Inc. is looking for an Art Director to support the SPECS Marketing team. This role will develop creative from concept through execution across a portfolio of key partners, brand campaigns, and marketing briefs. You will concept and create integrated campaigns spanning photography, film, web, social, AR, experiential, and emerging platforms—developing visually compelling ideas and design systems that influence consumer behavior and drive impact through ideas, craft, and innovation. You will work with senior creatives, designers, copywriters, strategists, marketers, and production partners to develop breakthrough concepts and bring them to life across multiple channels, with the ultimate goal of crafting world-class brand campaigns, content, and AR creative. This is a player–coach role: you will both lead and direct the work and act as a hands-on creative and designer, jumping into files to concept, design, and build key assets yourself. You will be comfortable developing the big idea for a campaign, defining its visual language, directing its execution across photo and film production, and translating that thinking into digital, web, social, and experiential experiences. What You’ll Do: Creative concept development and visual ideation for integrated brand campaigns, partner initiatives, AR experiences, and marketing briefsDevelop big-picture campaign concepts and creative platforms that can extend across photography, film, web, social, AR, experiential, and emerging formatsConcept and art direct photo shoots and film productions, developing visual treatments, shot lists, storyboards, casting direction, wardrobe direction, production design, lighting, and overall visual languagePartner with producers, photographers, directors, cinematographers, stylists, editors, and other production partners to bring creative concepts from pre-production through final deliveryConcept and art direct web and digital experiences, including campaign sites, landing pages, interactive experiences, and other digital touchpointsDevelop concepts and visual systems for social-first content, including campaign extensions, short-form video, photography, motion, and platform-native creativeTranslate overarching campaign ideas into cohesive visual systems that work consistently across channels while adapting appropriately to each mediumInspire, guide, and motivate designers and copywriters to craft thoughtful, impactful creative through strong art directionPartner closely with copy counterparts to develop cohesive, integrated ideasUtilize storytelling and strategic thinking skills to present creative concepts to creative directors, strategists, marketers, and key stakeholdersDevelop and present creative treatments, mood boards, visual territories, campaign concepts, and production approachesCollaborate with comms planners, strategists, and producers to understand campaign performance and apply learnings to future creativeManage and mentor junior creatives to elevate conceptual thinking, craft, and executionOversee visual execution across scripts, pitches, storyboards, treatments, presentations, and marketing materialsConcept, design, and build high-fidelity campaign assets and AR experiences yourself, from early explorations through final productionJump hands-on into design files (e.g., Figma, Adobe Creative Suite) to iterate layouts, typography, visual systems, and campaign assets alongside the teamPersonally execute key design deliverables on priority projects while balancing art direction and leadership responsibilitiesCollaborate with internal and external production partners to ensure creative and design intent is carried through from concept to final output across film, photography, digital, social, AR, and experiential touchpointsMaintain a high level of craft and visual consistency across every expression of a campaign Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Strong portfolio demonstrating a core creative concept across multiple channels and formatsStrong understanding of photography and film production, including treatments, casting, locations, wardrobe, production design, lighting, cinematography, and post-productionExperience concepting and art directing photo shoots and film shoots from pre-production through final deliveryStrong understanding of web design, digital experiences, and interactive storytellingExperience developing social-first creative and adapting campaign ideas for different platforms, audiences, and formatsAbility to lead and guide designers and creatives across multiple projects and workstreamsStrong conceptual thinking grounded in human insights, culture, storytelling, and problem-solvingExceptional eye for design, composition, typography, direction on projectsAbility to articulate simple, compelling ideas that can scale into larger creative platforms Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience5+ years of relevant creative experienceProven experience working as an Art Director in an agency, studio, or in-house creative environmentStrong track record of concepting and executing integrated brand campaigns across multiple channelsDemonstrated experience taking creative from initial concept and visual development through production and final executionExperience concepting and art directing photography and film productionsExperience developing storyboards, visual treatments, mood boards, and production approaches for photography, film, animation, and interactive experiencesExperience concepting and designing for websites, digital experiences, and social contentExperience across a range of media, including brand campaigns, photography, film, digital, social, websites, mobile, AR, and emerging formatsStrong track record of concepting and executing visually driven digital campaigns, including experience with AR or emerging platforms Preferred Qualifications: Experience working in a creative agency, brand studio, or highly conceptual in-house creative environmentExperience developing global or large-scale integrated brand campaignsExperience working directly with photographers, directors, production Compensation In the United States, work locations are assigned a pay zone which determines the salary range for the position. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. The starting pay may be negotiable within the salary range for the position. These pay zones may be modified in the future. Zone A (CA, WA, NYC): The base salary range for this position is $130,000-$196,000 annually. Zone B: The base salary range for this position is $124,000-$186,000 annually. Zone C: The base salary range for this position is $111,000-$167,000 annually. This position is eligible for equity in the form of RSUs.
