Key Responsibilities
- Provide design leadership in the development and communication of creative concepts for print and digital products
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of designers through direction, coaching, feedback, and day-to-day creative guidance
- Understand target audiences' needs, tasks, and goals, translating them into creative concepts
- Create compelling concepts and work with cross-functional teams to bring the vision through to final deliverables
- Design and produce high-quality print layouts, including multi-page guides, magazine inserts, and marketing materials, alongside supporting digital, social, and integrated marketing initiatives
- Prepare and finalize print design files appropriately for the printer, ensuring accuracy of bleed, trim, color profiles, resolution, and other production specifications
- Proof designs to ensure they are ready for review by the rest of the team, and provide final quality assurance on all art-related elements of the products
- Source and manage photography for print and general use, identifying relevant, dynamic imagery; perform photo cleanup and retouching in Photoshop as needed
- Review and elevate the work of designers on the team, ensuring deliverables are accurate, consistent, brand-aligned, and strategically effective
- Partner with Senior Art Directors and Creative Directors to maintain visual consistency and creative standards across projects
- Manage own workflow while coordinating with project teams and management on schedules, requirements, goals, and assignments
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of templates, asset libraries, design systems, and production standards
- Provide creative leadership and visual support for presentations, pitches, internal initiatives, and business development efforts
- Utilize approved AI-assisted tools to support design exploration, production efficiency, and workflow optimization while maintaining strong creative judgment
- Maintain organized file structures, asset management practices, and project documentation
- Stay informed on emerging design trends, print technologies, tools, and best practices
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree (BA/BFA) in Design, Fine Arts, Communications, Advertising, or related field preferred; relevant experience will be considered
- 6-9+ years of design experience with a strong focus on print, within agency, marketing, or integrated creative environments, including at least 3 years working within cross-functional teams
- Prior experience leading, mentoring, or directing designers
- Demonstrated understanding of design principles, project management principles, and managing expectations
- Advanced proficiency in the latest versions of applicable programs, including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign, with familiarity with modern design tools such as Figma
- Solid understanding of online and offline production, including prepress, file preparation, bleed/trim, color profiles, and quality assurance processes
- Exceptional leadership skills and a passion for design, with an eagerness to mentor and elevate other team members
- Ability to think strategically and work collaboratively with a team
- Ability to multi-task and work efficiently under pressure with careful attention to detail
- Willingness to take direction if and when needed, while also working independently
- Ability to respond positively to client and peer criticism and feedback
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing
- Ability to effectively manage relationships, both internally and externally
- Dependable, strong work ethic with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, professional office environment
Compensation
- $65,000 - 73,000
