ARRT/Mammography Tech ($10,000 Sign-on Bonus 1.0 FTE New Hire Only)

About the Role

This position requires specialized expertise in Mammography, including maintaining a safe mammography environment and knowledge of basic anatomy, physiology, and procedural room care specific to mammography patient care. The role involves providing imaging services and transportation to patients of all ages, from neonate to geriatric, while ensuring thorough communication and adherence to safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide imaging services and patient transportation across all age groups.
• Uphold safety standards and follow established protocols, practices, and guidelines for mammography.
• Observe JCAHO standards and prioritize customer and patient satisfaction using AIDET principles.
• Collaborate with other departments, modalities, and personnel to deliver high-quality patient care.
• Use I Care principles for proper patient identification, correct exams, and improved communication.
• Practice good stewardship with supplies, equipment, and department resources.
• Understand clinical history, supply and exam charges, and follow billing practices.
• Correlate clinical history with exams and practice radiation safety and dose reduction.
• Maintain personal qualifications as outlined by ACR/FDA/MQSA requirements.
• Participate in Mammography QC and complete documentation for all mammography equipment.
• Perform duties to maintain accreditation and QC records.
• Control and maintain inventory, supplies, and equipment; communicate supply needs.
• Instruct and supervise student technologists and new employees as assigned.
• Respond to call duties during off-hours as required and compensated.
• Serve as a charge or lead technologist when assigned, coordinating services and acting as a contact for radiologists, physicians, and other departments.
• Monitor and communicate changes in protocol, equipment issues, or department needs.
• Per Diem staff must work at least one holiday per calendar year and once every 90 days; provide notice for unavailability and submit a two-week resignation notice.
• Function proficiently in the specified area with minimal supervision.
• Maintain performance, patient, and employee satisfaction standards as outlined in performance evaluations.
• Complete compliance requirements, including CBTs, in-services, meetings, and educational sessions.
• Adhere to DCH Behavioral Standards and all DCH Health System policies and procedures.
• Use electronic mail, time and attendance software, learning management software, and intranet efficiently.
• Respond timely to all forms of communication.
• Operate imaging equipment, office equipment, and related materials essential for patient care and exams.

Requirements

• Graduate of a JRCERT-approved school of radiologic technology.
• Current registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in radiography or registry-eligible (required within one year of graduation).
• For MRI (MR) roles: ARRT MRI registry eligible or MR registration preferred; formal education or on-the-job training recommended.
• For MR Technician roles: Six months of on-the-job training, including a Medical Director-approved off-site instruction course and a three-month probation period.
• Proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and comprehending English.
• Ability to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Normal or corrected-to-normal hearing and vision.
• Physical presence onsite is essential.
