About the role
As our Arrhythmia Tech, you will be crucial in specialized cardiology care, managing diagnostic testing and vital cardiac device monitoring.
Responsibilities
- Expertly handle trans-telephonic pacemaker monitoring (scheduling, recording, reporting)
- Apply/schedule Holter/event recorders with patient education
- Perform essential cardiology diagnostic tests (ECGs, treadmills)
- Manage patient data entry
- Actively train with a preceptor to advance pacemaker/ICD interrogation and evaluation skills toward an Arrhythmia Tech II level
- Schedule, perform, and scan EKG's, event and Holter monitors, patient hook-ups and report generation
- Complete the next day's schedule with reprogramming forms and confirm those appointments in the scheduling system
- Communicate with physicians, managers, and co-workers as appropriate about changes in patient's clinical conditions
- Inform provider of significant patient complaints and/or arrhythmia
- Monitor and schedule pacemakers and ICD evaluations, including the use of trans-telephonic and remote monitoring
- Prepare reports of test results for interpretation by physician
- Track pacemaker implants, ICD implants, device evaluations, Holter and event monitors, complications and incidents
- Track information on patient charts as needed
- Document in progress notes for patient communication
- Escalate non-routine issues to practice manager or physician
Qualifications
- High School GED, upon hire or High School Graduate, upon hire
- Graduate from one of the following healthcare educational programs: IBHRE, Certified Medical Assistant, Certified Nursing Assistant, Licensed Practical Nurse, Emergency Medical Technician, upon hire OR Bachelors Of Science, upon hire OR Associates Of Science in biology, human physiology, healthcare or equivalent, upon hire
- Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire
