Armory Lead

Essential Functions

• Ensuring strict compliance of Arms, Ammunition, and Explosives (A&E) regulations.
• Maintaining 100% accountability of all conventional arms, ammunition, and explosives in accordance with OPNAVINST 5530.13D.
• Coinciding the receipt, storage, and issuance of munitions and small arms; supervise maintenance, cleaning, and functional testing of weapon systems.
• Enforcing physical security requirements for specialized storage areas (Security Risk Categories I-IV) to prevent unauthorized access or loss.
• Support MCSFBn range operations and urban combat training by ensuring timely delivery of ammunition and operable gear.
• Managing inventory records, ammunition condition reports, and quality deficiency documentation.
• Issuing, distributing, receiving, and storing weapons and collateral equipment as required and conduct inventories on optics/sighting systems, and collateral equipment, IAW DOD, Marine, and Navy regulations and directives.
• Ensure weapon(s) are issued to authorized individuals (with appropriate weapons card) after ensuring the individuals are qualified and familiarized with the weapon from Government provided roster.
• Provide a monthly report of all weapons, optics/sighting systems, and corresponding equipment (serial number, model and individual issued) to include location of individual will be provided by the Government and incorporated into the report.
• Monthly, the Government Technical Assistant (TA)/COR will provide the Contractor the name of an appointed Government Inventory Official (Military) to conduct an inventory of weapons.
• Assist the Government with monthly inventory of weapons prior to end of each month.
• At least yearly, or as required, assist an independent inventory team conducting a 100% inventory of all Armory/collateral equipment and report results using appropriate and Government provided forms.
• Support MCSFBn range operations and urban combat training by ensuring timely delivery of ammunition and operable gear.

Qualifications

• At least three years’ experience related to weapon and collateral equipment inventories, issue, return, and management.
• Direct experience with Navy/Marine Corps A&E regulations, including surveillance, inspection, and transportation of sensitive conventional ordnance.
• Proven experience as a Lead Petty Officer (LPO) or Staff NCO (SNCO), specifically in an Independent Duty Master-at-Arms (IDMAA) or Marine Corps Armorer capacity.
• Enrollment in the Personnel Reliability Program (PRP), which requires high standards of mental and physical stability, ethical conduct, and emotional maturity.
• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred in Logistics, or Business Management or a related technical discipline.
• Completion of Navy/Marine Corps Armorer School or equivalent.
• Qualifying as a Quality Assurance Service Officer (QASO) or Explosives Safety Specialist.
• Have written and oral communications abilities commensurate with this management role.
• Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.
• Ability to understand, speak, read, and write the English language.
• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees, Government Representative, and outside contacts.
• Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team.
• Valid driver’s license in the state of employment with an acceptable driving record.

Supervisory Responsibilities

• Assigns work to subordinates based on priorities.
• Maintain effective performance feedback through employee recognition, coaching, and disciplinary action.
• Ensures flow of communication from upper management to employees and vice versa.
• Target salary is commensurate with experience.

Physical Demands

• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time.
• Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically.

Environment

• Armory Lead is required to be on-site.
• Work areas consist of office and non-office settings such supply, and transportation facilities.
• Requires wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) which includes safety glasses, protective-toe footwear, gloves, and hearing protection as required.

Security Clearance Requirements

• Must currently hold a security clearance at the Secret level.
• US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location.
