Pay: $30.09 ($25.00 base rate + $5.09 health and wellness). Pay rates listed reflect the full rate for this position, including both the base pay and health and welfare benefits in accordance with applicable requirements.

Duties and Requirements

Maintain strict accountability and control of all firearms, ammunition, and assigned armory equipment.
Issue and receive weapons and equipment to authorized personnel, ensuring proper documentation and verification procedures are followed.
Conduct routine and periodic inventories of all armory assets, reconciling discrepancies and reporting any irregularities immediately.
Ensure all weapons are properly cleaned, maintained, and stored in accordance with established policies and manufacturer guidelines.
Inspect firearms and equipment for serviceability, coordinating repairs or replacements as necessary.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date logs, records, and reports related to armory operations, including issuance, turn-in, and inventory documentation.
Enforce all safety procedures related to the handling, storage, and transport of firearms and ammunition.
Monitor access control to the armory, ensuring only authorized personnel are permitted entry.
Assist in the development and implementation of armory procedures and best practices.
Support training operations by preparing and issuing required weapons and equipment.
Report any lost, damaged, or malfunctioning equipment in accordance with established protocols.
Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and organizational regulations related to armory operations.

Qualifications

Minimum of one (1) year of experience performing armory operations in a military, law enforcement, or security setting.
Must possess knowledge of firearms safety and handling procedures.
Must be able to provide proof of citizenship or legal US work authorization. If prior active-duty military, must provide copies of DD214(s) showing discharge condition.
Must consent to fingerprinting.
Must be at least 21 years of age.
Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Clean criminal record and ability to pass a comprehensive background check and security screening.
Ability to pass a preemployment medical assessment and drug screening.
Excellent communication, observation, and report-writing skills.
Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure and in high-stress situations.
Ability to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Work Environment

Employees may be exposed to extreme cold or hot weather conditions, fumes, or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and loud noise.

Physical Requirements

Employees may be required to remain in a stationary position, stand, push, pull, climb, kneel, crawl, balance, squat, bend, and reach.
Employees may be also required to use gear to move items around, including, but not limited to, carts and dollies.
Employees may also be occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 49 pounds.
