Brief Description
Mental Health Practitioners, Clinical Trainees, or Mental Health Professionals in Nystrom & Associates Community Based division work in the ARMHS (Adult Rehabilitative Mental Health Services) program. They provide community-based rehabilitative services to clients ages 18+ in their homes, focusing on four areas: Basic Living and Social Skills, Community Intervention, Medication Education, and Transitioning to Community Living.
Responsibilities
- Provide culturally responsive mental health skills to clients and/or their families (if working with children)
- Absorb clients in identifying goals for functional improvement and assist them in meeting these goals
- Design and implement treatment/intervention in-home based on client needs
- Receive clinical supervision from a qualified staff member and obtain continuing education units
Requirements
- Meet the Mental Health Practitioner requirements as per MN State Statute 245I.04.04
- Have a Master's degree or other graduate degree in a behavioral science or related field
- Have a Bachelor's degree in a behavioral science or related field and 2,000 hours of supervised experience in mental health services
- Have 4,000 hours of supervised experience in the delivery of mental health services to people with mental illness
- Meet the Clinical Trainee requirements per MN State Statute 245I.04.06
- Complete an accredited graduate program to prepare for independent licensure as a mental health professional
- Be licensed as a LICSW, LMFT, LPCC, or LP in Minnesota
- Have proficiency in using computers, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Electronic Health Records (EHR)
- Be able to work independently and have a valid driver’s license/auto insurance/reliable vehicle
- Be able to drive a minimum of a 30-mile radius around the primary clinic location

- Desire to work with children and families and/or adults in their homes; this includes walking, stairs, and the ability to crouch, stoop, sit on floors, and stand for periods of time
