About the role

Hanna Interpreting Services LLC seeks bilingual and multilingual individuals to serve as freelance interpreters in a 1099 Independent Contractor role. As an interpreter, you contribute positively to society by facilitating language access for everyone.

Responsibilities

• Make a positive contribution to society by bridging communication gaps.
• Operate as your own boss, setting your availability and accepting appointments based on your schedule.
• Work flexible hours from Monday to Friday, 8 am to 5 pm.
• Negotiate rates based on availability, experience, and demand of the language.

Requirements

• Fluency in English and target language with a comprehensive understanding of idiomatic speech and cultural patterns.
• Previous translation experience, preferably in medical, legal, or educational settings.
• Demonstrated professionalism, punctuality, and adaptability in the workplace.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to operate basic communication tools.
• Flexibility to work in different settings and adapt to various work environments.
• Must be located in and authorized to work in the US.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; or certification in interpreting or related fields.

Pay

Interpreters negotiate rates at 10 cents per word, depending on availability, experience, and demand of the language.

Schedule

Appointments are available Monday to Friday, 8 am to 5 pm. Appointments are not guaranteed and are offered based on need.
