Armed Security Officer - Train
About the role
As an Armed Security Officer supporting a government transit environment, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. You will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, respond to security-related concerns, and provide professional customer service to passengers, employees, and visitors.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to passengers, visitors, and/or transit personnel by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including coordinating with transit operations, emergency services, and/or law enforcement as appropriate.
- Conduct regular and random armed patrols of transit facilities, platforms, parking areas, vehicle access points, and surrounding perimeters to help deter unauthorized activity.
- Monitor access points, identify potential security-related concerns, and report observations, incidents, and maintenance-related hazards according to site procedures.
- Maintain required armed post qualifications and handle assigned equipment in accordance with Allied Universal policies, applicable laws, and site-specific requirements.
Requirements
- Have 3+ years of experience as a Military Police Officer, Corrections Officer, Armed Security Professional, or be a Certified Law Enforcement Graduate.
- Have 1+ years of security-related experience.
- Possess an Armed Guard Card or License.
- Possess a DD214 with an Honorable Discharge, an Associate’s Degree or 60 college credits, a Police Academy Certificate, or a Corrections Academy Certificate.
- CPR Certification is preferred.
- Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Qualifications
- Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
