About the role

As an Armed Patrol Emergency Readiness Security Officer in Van Nuys, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in industries such as Government. You will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to deter security-related incidents, and respond professionally to evolving situations. You will provide exceptional customer service and clear communication while supporting a secure environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and members of the public by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at government facilities.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, parking areas, perimeter areas, and access points to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access to restricted areas, verify credentials as directed, and report suspicious activity, policy violations, or facility concerns through established channels.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following applicable post orders and lawful instructions.
• Prepare clear, accurate incident reports, patrol logs, and daily activity documentation, and coordinate with law enforcement or emergency personnel when directed.

Requirements

• At least one year of security-related experience.
• An armed guard card or license is required.
• Pepper spray certification is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Handcuffing certification is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
• Clean background and clean driving record.

Pay

$26.81 / hour

Schedule

• Tuesday: 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM
• Thursday: 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM
• Friday: 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM
• Saturday: 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM
• Sunday: 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM
