As an Armed Security Officer supporting a government corrections environment, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and provide professional communication and customer service. Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and/or members of the public while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at a government corrections location.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, access points, perimeter areas, and parking locations to help deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
• Monitor access to restricted areas, verify credentials as required, and document visitor, vehicle, and contractor activity in accordance with site procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, requesting additional support and/or emergency services when appropriate.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports of patrols, incidents, observations, and other security-related activities, and communicate relevant information to site leadership and Allied Universal supervision.

Requirements

• Possess an armed guard card or license.
• Have at least six months of armed security-related, law enforcement, or military experience.
• A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.

Pay

$21.50 per hour.

Schedule

Part-time. Monday and Sunday, 5:45 PM to 6:00 AM.
