Security Officer Job Responsibilities

• Patrolling one or a number of premises
• Making observations and monitoring activity both inside and outside a premises through closed circuit television
• Signed in visitors to a building
• Checking suspicious packages
• Performing checks on building traffic (people entering and exiting)
• Recording any suspicious activity and taking necessary action
• Guarding valuables or cash (typically in a secure vehicle)
• Communicating relevant information to other security officers via communication devices
• Giving directions and other information to visitors
• Writing reports for the police or courts
• Creating and distributing building access cards

Required Qualifications

• A high school diploma or equivalent (degree must be conferred on or before the agreed upon start date)
• A valid Oklahoma driver’s license
• A current Oklahoma CLEET License in: Phase 1 (Basic), Phase 2 (Officer)
