Armed Security Guard

About the role

Armed Security Officers are responsible for protecting the site’s building, grounds, assets, employees, tenants, and visitors against criminal activity, accidents, and fires. In this region, you will protect one of the State's most critical infrastructures: our military bases. You will work on a team to control access to the facility at all entry/exit points and perform vehicle patrols around the grounds.

Responsibilities

• Customer Relations – Highly reliant on interactions with clients, resident families, and residents.
• Access Control – Ensure only authorized individuals are allowed access to the site.
• Camera Monitoring – Monitor CCTV for safety and security concerns.
• Foot Patrol – Patrol the interior and exterior of various buildings on site, watching for security, safety, or maintenance issues.
• Mobile Patrol – Patrol parking lots, roads, building exteriors, and remote locations in a security vehicle.
• Monitor Fire Alarms – Ensure fire alarms are working accurately.
• Provide excellent customer service when dealing with visitors, staff, and leadership.
• Observe and report activities and incidents at assigned client locations.
• Guard posts – including building lobbies, gates, reception areas, control centers, etc.
• Conduct periodic foot patrols of assigned locations.
• Ensure unauthorized persons do not enter restricted areas.
• Enforce policies and procedures to maintain a safe and secure environment for all employees and visitors.
• Check for employee and vendor identifications.
• Look for suspicious persons, packages, and activities.
• Respond to emergency situations.
• Maintain regular communication with clients, follow through with client requests, and keep operations managers updated.
• Follow and enforce site-specific post guidelines.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years old and possess a high school diploma or equivalent (e.g., GED).
• Must have a current, valid Michigan Concealed Pistol License (CPL).
• Must pass a drug screening at the time of hire and randomly thereafter (including for marijuana; federal compliance required).
• No felony convictions and must pass a criminal background check in accordance with federal, state, and local laws.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Michigan Concealed Pistol License (CPL).

Pay

$20.00/hour.

Schedule

• 1 Full-Time 2nd shift opening.
• 1 Part-Time 3rd shift opening.
