Armed Guard

Silver Star Protection Group (SSPG), established in 2014 and headquartered in Rolling Meadows, Illinois, provides physical security, security system integration, consultation, and secure transport across industries including cannabis, commercial real estate, construction, and data centers. The Armed Security Guard role is based in Boardman/Youngstown, OH with full‑time hours and open availability; schedules and site assignments may shift based on client needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide security services at assigned client site(s), ensuring the safety and security of personnel, premises, and assets.
• Work various shifts and client sites as needed; schedule and locations may change depending on client needs, staffing requirements, or other operational factors.
• Maintain professionalism in all interactions with clients, visitors, and staff; foster a positive and secure environment through communication.
• Conduct regular patrols of the assigned site and monitor surveillance equipment, ensuring adherence to the client’s security protocols.
• Accurately document any incidents, security breaches, or irregularities and promptly report them to appropriate personnel for follow‑up.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by Silver Star leadership.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Active OPOTA certification.
• Must own a firearm with a Level 2 retention holster or higher.
• Previous armed security or related experience preferred.
• Strong situational awareness and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and de‑escalation skills.
• Ability to stand, walk, or patrol for extended periods.
• Capability to respond quickly and effectively in emergencies.

Schedule & Availability

Guards work scheduled shifts at assigned client sites. Shifts, site assignments, and schedules are subject to change based on client and SSPG needs. Flexibility is required to work additional shifts, including on‑call or emergency coverage when needed.

Pay

$20.00 per hour.
