Arena Operations Technician (Overnight Shift)

About the role
The Arena Operations Technician is responsible for carrying out back-of-house operations to ensure Intuit Dome and Kia Forum always operate optimally. As an Arena Ops Tech, you will support all events within the Intuit Dome and the Kia Forum property and grounds, ensuring the venues are always event ready. Tasks include event set-up, tear down, changeovers, and daily operational work related to concerts, sporting events, meetings, and other events. This is a part-time role based in Inglewood, CA, encompassing a 24-hour, 7-day-a-week operation with numerous daily events. Due to the nature of this industry, you must be available to work a flexible schedule including weeknights, weekends, and holidays to cover high-profile concerts and NBA games.
Responsibilities
- Carry out the conversion and changeover of the buildings from event to event including NBA, college basketball, concert productions, corporate events, and more.
- Operate all event setup and teardown equipment including stages and platforms, basketball court flooring, basketball goals, scorers’ tables, retractable seating, etc., in compliance with Cal. OSHA, Life & Safety, and ADA regulations. This may include the installation and removal of various large, heavy components utilized for games, concerts, and other events.
- Actively care for all venue equipment and property by storing equipment properly, cleaning and repairing broken or damaged items, and alerting management of any mistreatment of property.
- Ensure internal/external customer satisfaction upon the conversion of items and that all production notes have been addressed to meet safety regulations.
- Responsible for the physical setup of all areas around the venues including flooring, chairs, tables, walls, staging, furnishings, and equipment.
- Properly utilize, organize, and store operations supplies/equipment and perform effective inventory storage practices to guarantee the appropriate supplies and equipment required to perform duties efficiently.
- Support Halo Sports & Entertainment’s robust sustainability program.
- Maintain overall cleanliness and organization of the venues.
- May be required to operate industrial vehicles such as pallet jacks, forklifts, and other lifting equipment.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum of one (1) year experience in facility management, preferably in a complex and sophisticated deadline-driven environment.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Understand verbal and written instructions in English. Frequent communication via radio and in-person with others to exchange accurate information.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with an ability to interact effectively and professionally, diplomatically, and maturely with internal and external clients and peers at all levels within an organization and throughout the community.
- Understands principles of project coordination and project management, and exhibits attention to detail to meet tight deadlines and work effectively in a high-pressure environment.
- Knowledge of and a passion for professional basketball and live entertainment.
- Highly responsive to emergencies in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment.
- Ability to receive direction and constructive feedback within a multi-ethnic/multi-cultural environment.
- Willingness/ability to perform physical labor while remaining mobile, engaged, and energetic throughout sustained periods of time. This position requires frequent bending and squatting, ability to move and lift up to 75 pounds, standing for long periods of time, exposure to multiple external elements, and extensive walking through the building.
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as business requires.
- OSHA 10 Certification highly preferred.
- Previous experience and certification operating heavy machinery such as forklift, scissor lift, and golf carts preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Able to lift or move equipment up to 75 pounds.
- Able to bend at the waist, reach overhead and horizontal.
- Comfortable working at various heights.
- Both indoor and outdoor environments; indoor conditions are generally air-conditioned, while outdoor conditions may include inclement weather such as direct sunlight, heat, humidity, rain, sleet, and wind.
- Exposure to high noise levels and high vibrations.

Pay
Compensation for this role is $20/hour, then $22/hour after the probationary period. This role is classified as non-exempt.
