Overview
The Area Vice-President leads a team of Sales Directors within a defined geographic area to achieve revenue, new business acquisition, and account expansion targets. Reporting to the Market Vice President, the Area Vice-President is responsible for driving sales execution excellence, field productivity, customer engagement, and talent development across their assigned area.
Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a team of Sales Directors to achieve area-level sales, pipeline, activity, and forecast goals in alignment with regional and national strategies.
- Drive disciplined sales execution through coaching on opportunity strategy, territory planning, competitive positioning, and customer engagement.
- Ensure strong pipeline health, accurate forecasting, and consistent adoption of sales methodologies, CRM, and performance management processes.
- Attract, hire, and develop high-performing sales leaders, including regular performance reviews and targeted development plans.
- Build an inclusive, high-performance sales culture centered on accountability, recognition, and continuous improvement.
- Support Sales Directors in developing strong customer relationships and advancing major opportunities.
- Engage with key customers and prospects as needed to elevate relationships and ensure satisfaction.
- Maintain deep awareness of competitive trends and market dynamics within the area.
- Review and manage forecasted revenue streams on weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual intervals.
- Analyze area performance and identify opportunities to improve sales productivity and expand market penetration.
- Ensure high levels of operational sales discipline, including consistent reporting, territory optimization, and quota alignment.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of progressive sales experience, including a demonstrated track record of successfully leading and developing high-performing sales teams.
- Experience in office technology, managed services, software, or related B2B industries preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent relevant experience considered.
- Demonstrated success in sales leadership roles with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding revenue targets.
- Proven sales leader with strong coaching, communication, and decision-making skills.
- Results-driven with solid business acumen and analytical capability.
- Expertise in pipeline management, forecasting, and territory planning.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Travel within the assigned area.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic field environment.
