Area Transportation Lead Civil Engineer

Available location: Redmond, Oregon

Base pay: $125,000 to $175,000, plus paid time off, 401(k) retirement plan, and 100 percent company-paid employee health, life, and disability insurance. Approximately 85 to 90 percent of family medical is also covered.

About the role

Anderson Perry & Associates, Inc. (AP) is seeking a senior transportation civil engineer to lead our transportation efforts in the Central Oregon area. In this role, you will work directly with senior firm leadership to develop and implement strategies for client relationships and transportation-related opportunities. You will deliver a variety of transportation projects for DOTs and other local public agencies, including roadways, streets, sidewalks, pedestrian facilities, and small bridges and culverts.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all aspects of multiple projects, including funding, scope, fee and contract development, project planning, permitting, cost estimating, pre-design work, design, specifications, bidding document preparation, construction support, and project closeout.
  • Work with senior firm management to develop project opportunities and assist the marketing team with proposal development.
  • Make project assignments and oversee internal staff and subconsultants.
  • Participate in hiring, training, developing, and overseeing staff and project managers for the Central Oregon area as workload increases.

Requirements

  • Four-year civil engineering degree from an accredited university (Master's preferred).
  • 10+ years of transportation engineering experience.
  • Professional Engineer’s License in Oregon or ability to obtain one within 6 months of employment.
  • Valid driver's license.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Public speaking skills with experience in client, public, and contractor meetings.
  • Experience developing and writing planning documents, work agreements, and task orders.
  • Project management experience, including managing subconsultants.
  • Ability to lead, train, motivate others, and contribute to a team environment.
  • Experience developing long-lasting relationships with clients, peers, and management.
  • Experience with ODOT-related work.
