Area Tech

Responsibilities

• Cleans (dusts, disinfects, mops, restocks, pulls trash and inspects) occupied patient rooms
• Cleans discharge rooms in a timely manner for incoming patients
• Cleans support areas and critical care areas such as nurses stations, lounges, intensive care units and isolation rooms
• Enters data into the bed tracking system
• Inspects ancillary and patient areas and projects
• Makes work assignments and trains staff as a team leader
• Strips, wax, dust mops and damp mops floors
• Vacuum, bonnet and extract carpets
• Trains and instructs new area techs in proper hospital policies and procedures

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent
• Housekeeping experience is preferred
• Ability to read and follow written instructions, to include MSDS sheets, policies and procedures
• Ability to understand verbal communications
