Area Supervisor (Human Services)
About the role
Life's New Beginning is seeking an Area Supervisor to oversee the overall management of a set of residential group homes for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) and mental health disorders. This position is based in the group homes, not an office setting, and involves quality management, staff training and mentoring, location oversight, and any tasks that contribute positively to services.
- Manage and train direct support professionals (DSPs)
- Facilitate team meetings
- Identify and report mental health symptoms and behaviors of concern
- Work hours necessary to meet the needs of individuals served
- Communicate effectively with DSPs, management, family, and other professionals (e.g., doctors, psychiatrists)
- Participate in a rotating on-call schedule
This is a full-time salaried position with a schedule typically Monday through Friday, including both day and evening hours.
Requirements
- At least 18 years of age or older
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid driver’s license
- At least one year of experience working with individuals with an intellectual disability and/or mental health disorder
- Supervisory or management experience
