About the role
The Area Supervisor is a member of the Store Leadership who is responsible for a specific, assigned area of the Store as well as the general operations and supervision of the Store when functioning as the Manager on Duty. They ensure proper merchandise presentation, maintain a clean work area at all times, execute and supervise Company operational processes as needed, and manage the front-end operations.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a safe and secure environment by understanding safety is the number one priority and practicing safe behaviors in everything they do.
- Ensure customer safety by preventing accidents, reporting accidents, and following emergency procedures.
- Manage the store’s security, including controlling access, checking EAS devices, and handling cash office security.
- Provide excellent customer service by treating all customers, associates, and leaders with respect, demonstrating courtesy, friendliness, and professionalism.
- Represent and support the Company brand at all times by maintaining a professional appearance and ensuring all areas of the Store are clean and merchandised to standard.
- Execute Company Best Practices and maximize productivity by minimizing steps and extra touches when working.
- Supervise Retail Associates and Stockroom Leads, ensuring they execute to Company standards and manage the front-end operations.
- Manage the fitting rooms by maintaining their cleanliness and ensuring all merchandise is returned correctly.
- Perform administrative duties as assigned by the Store Manager, such as conducting cash pulls and bank deposits, managing front-end controls, and ensuring payroll administration.
Requirements
- Excellent verbal communication skills.
- Fluency in English.
- Prior Customer Service and supervisory experience preferred.
- Familiarity with point-of-sale equipment and applications.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends.
Special Skills
- Ability to use all Store equipment, including PDTs, registers, and PC as required.
- Ability to spend up to 100% of working time standing, walking, and moving around the Store.
- Ability to regularly bend at the waist, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop.
- Ability to occasionally push, pull, and lift more than 25 lbs.
- Ability to use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders, and other assigned supplies.
