About the role

The Area Supervisor plays a crucial role in the store leadership team, overseeing a specific area and managing the general operations and supervision of the store. This position requires a high level of responsibility and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a safe and secure environment by practicing safe behaviors and immediately correcting or reporting any unsafe conditions or practices.
  • Ensure proper merchandise presentation and maintain a clean work area at all times.
  • Execute and supervise Company operational processes as needed.
  • Manage customer safety, including accident prevention, reporting, and emergency procedures.
  • Test and maintain fire alarm systems and respond to after-hours alarms.
  • Treat all customers, associates, and leaders with respect, demonstrating courtesy, friendliness, and professionalism.
  • Represent and support the Company brand at all times, maintaining a professional appearance and ensuring all associates adhere to the Company Dress Code.
  • Ensure all areas of the store are clean, well-maintained, and merchandised to standard, and handle daily trash removal.
  • Manage customer service, loss prevention, front-end supervision, fitting rooms, and administrative duties as assigned.
  • Train and coach associates on cash registers, shortage control policies, and other front-end procedures.

Qualifications and Special Skills

  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Prior customer service and supervisory experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with point-of-sale equipment and applications.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to use all store equipment, including PDTs, registers, and PCs as required.
  • Ability to spend up to 100% of working time standing, walking, and moving around the store.
  • Ability to regularly bend at the waist, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop.
  • Ability to occasionally push, pull, and lift more than 25 lbs.
  • Ability to use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders, and other assigned supplies.
