About the role

The Area Supervisor plays a crucial role within the Store Leadership team, overseeing a specific area of the store and managing general operations and supervision during the Manager on Duty shift. Key responsibilities include maintaining a safe and secure environment, customer service, general merchandising, loss prevention, front-end supervision, and fitting room management.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a safe and secure shopping environment by immediately correcting or reporting any unsafe conditions or practices to Store Leadership.
  • Ensure proper merchandise presentation and maintain a clean work area at all times.
  • Execute and supervise Company operational processes as needed.
  • Manage associates, ensuring they execute to Company standards at the Front End, train and coach on cash registers, shortage control policies, and other Front End procedures.
  • Train and coach associates on "Scan and Bag" best practice, ensuring salability of merchandise on the Front End.
  • Manage the Fitting Rooms, ensuring all garments are accounted for and comply with Company policy.
  • Control Retail Associates' break schedule for backups, lunches, and breaks, ensuring proper supplies and recovery for the Front End area.
  • Ensure go-backs are expedited, properly scanned, security tagged, and ticketed.
  • Manage stockrooms, ensuring compliance with Company policy and reducing loss due to damage.
  • Process all merchandise with a sense of urgency, handling non-merchandise inbound deliveries, and assisting with floor moves and signing.
  • Perform administrative duties as assigned by the Store Manager, including cash pulls, bank deposits, and payroll administration.

Qualifications and Special Skills Required

  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Prior Customer Service and supervisory experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with point-of-sale equipment and applications.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to use all Store equipment, including PDTs, registers, and PC as required.
  • Ability to spend up to 100% of working time standing, walking, and moving around the Store.
  • Ability to regularly bend at the waist, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop.
  • Ability to occasionally push, pull, and lift more than 25 lbs.
  • Ability to use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders, and other assigned supplies.
