About the role
The Area Supervisor plays a crucial role within the Store Leadership team, overseeing a specific area of the store and managing the general operations and supervision of the store when acting as the Manager on Duty. Key responsibilities include ensuring a safe and secure shopping environment, customer service, merchandise presentation, loss prevention, front-end supervision, and administrative duties.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a safe and secure shopping environment by understanding and practicing safety protocols, immediately correcting or reporting unsafe conditions, and managing security measures.
- Treat all customers, associates, and leaders with respect, demonstrating courtesy, friendliness, and professionalism.
- Manage the front-end operations, train and coach associates on cash registers, shortage control policies, and other front-end procedures.
- Ensure proper merchandise presentation, loss prevention, and adherence to company policies and guidelines.
- Perform administrative duties as assigned by the store manager, such as cash pulls, bank deposits, and payroll administration.
Requirements
- Excellent verbal communication skills.
- Fluency in English.
- Prior customer service and supervisory experience preferred.
- Familiarity with point-of-sale equipment and applications.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends.

Physical Requirements
- Ability to use all store equipment, including PDTs, registers, and PCs as required.
- Ability to spend up to 100% of working time standing, walking, and moving around the store.
- Ability to regularly bend at the waist, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop.
- Ability to occasionally push, pull, and lift more than 25 lbs.
- Ability to use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders, and other assigned supplies.
