About the role
The Area Supervisor plays a crucial role within the Store Leadership team, overseeing a specific area of the store and managing the general operations and supervision of the store when acting as the Manager on Duty. Key responsibilities include ensuring a safe and secure shopping environment, customer service, general merchandising, loss prevention, front-end supervision, and fitting room maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a safe and secure environment by understanding and practicing safety protocols, immediately correcting or reporting unsafe conditions, and performing regular security checks.
- Treat all customers, associates, and leaders with respect, demonstrating courtesy, friendliness, and professionalism.
- Ensure proper merchandise presentation and maintain a clean work area at all times.
- Execute and supervise Company operational processes as needed, including handling merchandise, processing deliveries, and managing stockrooms.
- Manage the front-end area, ensuring associates execute to company standards, controlling the line to minimize wait times, and training associates on best practices.
- Oversee fitting rooms, ensuring compliance with company policies and maintaining a clean and organized environment.
- Perform administrative duties as assigned by the store manager, such as conducting cash pulls, managing breaks, and ensuring proper inventory management.
Qualifications and Special Skills Required
- Excellent verbal communication skills.
- Fluency in English.
- Prior customer service and supervisory experience preferred.
- Familiarity with point-of-sale equipment and applications.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to use all store equipment, including point-of-sale terminals, registers, and PCs.
- Regularly stand, walk, and move around the store.
- Spend up to 100% of working time standing, walking, and moving around the store.
- Occasionally push, pull, and lift more than 25 lbs.
- Use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders, and other assigned supplies.
