About the role
The Area Supervisor plays a crucial role within the Store Leadership team, overseeing a specific area of the store and managing the general operations and supervision of the store when acting as the Manager on Duty. Key responsibilities include ensuring a safe and secure shopping environment, customer service, general merchandising, loss prevention, front-end supervision, and administrative duties.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a safe and secure shopping environment by understanding and practicing safe behaviors, immediately correcting or reporting unsafe conditions, and managing security measures such as EAS devices, cash office security, and armored carrier pick-ups.
- Treat all customers, associates, and leaders with respect, demonstrating courtesy, friendliness, and professionalism at all times, and engaging in customer and associate interactions.
- Ensure proper merchandise presentation and maintain a clean work area at all times, including daily trash removal and cleaning of emergency exits.
- Execute and supervise Company operational processes as needed, including loss prevention activities, training associates, and ensuring compliance with presentation guidelines.
- Manage the front-end area, controlling the pace and energy of the line to minimize wait times, train associates on cash register procedures, and ensure salability of merchandise.
- Maintain the fitting rooms, ensuring compliance with garment tag audits and go-back procedures, and oversee the cleanliness and organization of these areas.
- Perform administrative duties as assigned by the Store Manager, including cash pulls, bank deposits, and payroll administration.
Qualifications and Special Skills Required
- Excellent verbal communication skills.
- Fluency in English.
- Prior customer service and supervisory experience preferred.
- Familiarity with point-of-sale equipment and applications.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to use all store equipment, including PDTs, registers, and PCs.
- Ability to spend up to 100% of working time standing, walking, and moving around the store.
- Ability to bend, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop.
- Ability to occasionally push, pull, and lift more than 25 lbs.
- Ability to use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders, and other assigned supplies.
