Responsibilities

  • Manages a team of outside field personnel
  • Directs work to at least two or more other full-time employees
  • Has the authority to hire and fire other employees
  • Establishes and builds relationships with direct reports through monthly job site visits
  • Conducts annual performance reviews and supports employee development
  • Daily travel to job site locations; observations and associated reporting based on designated area
  • Builds positive client, State DOT and Local Municipal relationships within designated area
  • Oversees pre-construction management process including client meetings, internal job leads meetings and other communication as required
  • Serves as subject matter expert for internal office staff with regards to order requirements such as personnel and equipment needs
  • Meets with Field Manager on daily/weekly basis to review Crew Leaders' and Advanced Crew Leader's performance and associated metrics
  • Completes and submits daily reporting by way of work zone observations
  • Affords assistance to the safety department with the investigation of incidents when requested
  • Responsible for fleet telematics and related driver coaching
  • Professionally represents the organization to clients, employees and the public
  • Submits HR requests and subsequent delivery of related discipline, in accordance with company guidelines and established timelines
  • Works collaboratively and communicates frequently with other departments
  • Makes recommendations to Field Manager for field staff promotions as needed
  • Conducts, attends and participates in various department meetings as necessary
  • Conducts random quarterly, post-accident, and reasonable suspicion drug tests
  • Successfully completes Area Supervisor Job Training Program and required continuing education

  • Strong verbal, written, analytical, reasoning, and problem-solving skills
  • Developed leadership skills including conflict resolution, and ability to coach and train people and teams
  • Ability to positively influence people and situations in a fast-paced environment and build trust and support optimal outcomes
  • Ability to adapt quickly and manage time effectively
  • Ability to manage high stress scenarios and environments
  • Proficient computer literacy; experience with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, etc.)
