Area Supervisor / Area Manager

About the role

This position leads a team responsible for Compression, Pipeline, Corrosion, and Measurement operations and maintenance (O&M) activities at Jeffersontown Compressor and Pipeline facilities. The role ensures compliance with DOT 192, EPA/DEQ, OSHA regulations, and company policies while maintaining safe, reliable, and efficient operations. Responsibilities include managing the local control room, overseeing shift employees, coordinating with internal teams, and responding to emergencies. The position will be filled as either an Area Supervisor or Area Manager based on experience.

The successful candidate will report to and work from the Jeffersontown compressor station and pipeline office in Jeffersontown, KY.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safe and reliable operation of compressor, pipeline, corrosion, and measurement facilities.
• Oversee the performance of personnel in O&M activities to maintain regulatory and policy compliance.
• Manage the local control room and shift employees, if applicable.
• Collaborate with Area Personnel, Operations Support, Engineering, Construction, and other leaders to optimize facility performance.
• Develop and train employees while managing shift work schedules.
• Champion the company’s safety program and respond to emergency situations.
• Ensure gas quality and coordinate shutdowns through Gas Control.
• Work with the legal department and the ROW group on easements, property owner complaints, and lease renewals.
• Read and implement O&M manuals, drawings, alignment sheets, and valve maps.

Requirements

• Five to ten years of experience in the natural gas compression and storage industry.
• Three to five years of supervisory experience in the natural gas industry or equivalent.
• Familiarity with DOT 192 regulations and natural gas pipeline operations.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, leadership, and computer skills.
• Economic and critical thinking abilities.
• Self-motivation, commitment to safety, and a strong work ethic.
• Ability to manage multiple situations simultaneously.
• Ability to work in extreme weather, noise conditions, and stand for long durations.
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.

Preferred Qualifications

• Leadership experience in Field Operations.
• 10+ years of pipeline operations and maintenance experience, including underground storage facilities.
• 10+ years of pipeline operations and maintenance experience and 5+ years of reciprocating compressor & turbine operations and maintenance experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience (required).
• Bachelor’s Degree (preferred).
