Project Overview

Bechtel is building a semiconductor manufacturing plant in New Albany, Ohio. The project partners with the North America Building Trades Unions and suppliers to create several thousand new jobs and works with local education organizations to implement new training programs that will support the future talent pipeline. Bechtel Manufacturing & Technology, Inc. provides engineering, procurement, and construction services for customers in the semiconductor manufacturing, electric‑vehicle, and data‑center markets. The global business unit is headquartered in Reston, Virginia and includes colleagues in Arizona, Ohio, Texas, India, and other project locations worldwide.

Job Summary

In this role you will monitor and organize planning, safety, quality, and technical activities on a complex project with multiple stakeholders. Field supervision ensures operations are planned to coincide with established schedules and that work methods are planned and executed safely.

Major Responsibilities

• Responsible for the cost, schedule and optimization of craft labor and maintaining the overall construction schedule, the 90‑day and 3‑week look‑ahead schedules for labor and equipment.
• Inspect site for unsafe conditions and practices and take appropriate action to correct deficiencies.
• Coordinate safety training in conjunction with the Environmental Safety and Health Supervisor.
• Champion the “Zero Accident” philosophy and ensure compliance with Bechtel and local/national safety codes, requirements and standards.
• Monitor craft activities to ensure compliance with specifications and schedules.
• Interface with Labor/Industrial Relations for craft recruitment and training programs.
• Review craft time records using established automated tools.
• Monitor installation of materials and equipment to assure conformance with drawings, specifications, vendor, and other requirements.
• Implement and enforce policies, procedures and related work rules as established by field construction management.

Education and Experience Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) and 10–13 years of relevant experience, or 14–17 years of relevant work experience in lieu of a degree.

Required Knowledge and Skills

• Extensive working knowledge of construction planning, monitoring and control.
• Familiarity with construction tools and equipment and their uses.
• Extensive technical knowledge and experience in construction operations to ensure coordination with all stakeholders for smooth and safe execution.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, database applications).
• Experience managing union craft.
• Heavy‑industrial U.S. direct‑hire construction experience.
• Understanding of the Project Environmental, Safety & Health (ES&H) Handbook and Bechtel Core Processes as they relate to the area of responsibility.
• Knowledge of safety and relevant OSHA requirements and regulations.
• Knowledge of Bechtel’s “Zero Accidents” safety program.
• Excellent customer‑relations and communication skills.

Additional Information

• Physical ability to conduct field inspections, including extensive walking on a construction site in high heat and humidity, climbing ladders and scaffolding, working on elevated platforms, uneven surfaces, and in confined spaces.
• Some lifting may be required.
• Must be able to walk into and out of the project (enter/egress).
• Must use appropriate standard‑issued Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required for each assigned task.
