Area Superintendent

Purpose of Position

Responsible for supervising and coordinating all on site field or shop operations while providing comprehensive onsite practical and technical direction pertaining to contract scope for all construction.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

• Monitor compliance with corporate/project safety program requirements and interface with Safety Managers.
• Adhere to project schedule and orchestrate timely and quality project completion within budget.
• Provide pertinent information and trade specific information to the GC in the development of the project schedule.
• Cope with project management and maintain open lines of communication regarding matters concerning project budget, productivity, change orders, quality control and customer satisfaction.
• Execute, supervise and maintain CPMI.
• Lead daily and weekly scope of work activities.
• Requisition, maintain and account for tools, materials and equipment.
• Monitor progress, performance and quality of work for subcontractors and major equipment suppliers.
• Manage book of business with Operations Managers with multiple projects.
• Constant collaboration with Operations and GC’s.
• Ensure required permits and/or licenses are obtained and posted.
• Cordinate required jurisdictional inspections.
• Provide required training, mentoring, coaching and leadership for field personnel.
• Day-to-day coordination of field/shop work force with Labor Resources.
• Data entry and maintenance for field work force employee tracking.
• Select field force staff for new projects.
• Cordinate scheduling of specialty crews (i.e., underground and mechanical room piping).

Accountability

• Comply with all company policies and procedures.
• Prompt, punctual, and regular attendance during core business hours, in an office environment (not a telecommuting position), including a reliable means of transport to and from work. Ability to occasionally to travel between corporate offices and jobsites within the Denver Metro Area, during work hours.
• All employees are accountable for safety and health and are empowered to stop work if an unsafe condition is present. Employees should immediately notify their supervisor so that the hazard may be corrected.

Minimum Physical Requirements

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to: stand, sit, talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, telephone, and a variety of office equipment.
• Occasionally may need to reach, stoop, or kneel.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision requirements due to computer work.

Qualifications

• Masters or college/university graduate or equivalent combination of skills and experience generally required.
• Expert in field, extensive relevant experience, 15+ years.
• Demonstrates a high degree of creativity, foresight, and mature judgment in planning, organizing and guiding extensive programs and activities of importance.
• Demonstrates independent decision-making.
• Great communication, negotiation and training skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to manage autonomous individuals, managers and diverse groups giving broader direction.
