About the role

The ideal candidate will support teachers in meeting the educational, behavioral, and social emotional needs of students in the classroom and community.

Responsibilities

• Provides small group and/or individualized instruction to students according to lesson plans developed by the teacher.
• Affords assistance to teachers with daily classroom management activities aimed at fostering an effective learning environment.
• Assists teachers in assessing student performance through standardized and non-standardized testing and other recordkeeping tasks.
• Supports the creation and organization of instructional materials for students and ensures their availability before scheduled instructional segments.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the teacher.

Requirements

• Minimum of sixty (60) semester hours or ninety (90) quarter hours of college courses completed with a GPA of 2.0 or higher from a Professional Standards Commission approved accredited college or university.
• - Or - High school diploma/GED and a passing score on the Georgia Assessments for the Certification of Educators (GACE) Paraprofessional Assessment.
• Must obtain a valid Professional Standards Commission approved paraprofessional certificate.

The ideal candidate should be knowledgeable and have a strong desire to help students learn.
