Responsibilities

  • Manage and maximize the assigned area’s sales performance and margin enhancement through effective staffing, training, coaching, and development of the field sales team.
  • Actively monitor potential future sales personnel hires by visiting competitors’ sales offices, tracking high-potential candidates, and engaging them when openings arise.
  • Interview and hire New Home Advisors and New Home Associates/Assistants to build a best-in-class sales force.
  • Ensure job expectations and performance goals are clearly communicated to each team member.
  • Co-prepare and co-lead sales meetings and formalized training sessions.
  • Own the SalesForce CRM process and ensure consistent, effective use by the field sales team.

  • Coach sales team members through instruction, role-playing, and interactive discussion—both informally and formally—using the Company’s established coaching and performance improvement processes to achieve sales, customer satisfaction, and business plan goals.
  • Recognize top performers and strategically leverage their strengths to promote positivity and constructive behaviors.
  • Proactively monitor and engage poor performers to develop weaker areas; move non-performers out of the Company if performance does not improve.
  • Visit competitor communities to complete competitive market analysis, gather market data (e.g., pricing, product specifications, release and sales information, incentives, lot premiums, options), and provide summary reports to management.
  • Solicit and summarize input from community sales team members regarding customer preferences, traffic patterns, and other relevant information for management.
  • Collaborate with community sales team members and brand/division management to determine sales forecasts and closing schedules.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 2-3 years of experience in the homebuilding industry in a similar leadership role strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience in new home sales, escrow, lending, and sales training.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach both high and low performers in a structured and motivational fashion; comfortable with role-playing.
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Physical Requirements

  • Position requires sitting, walking, standing, and occasional onsite surveying (standing, climbing stairs/ladders, etc.).
  • Frequent driving to communities is required.
  • Environmental conditions vary (e.g., hot, cold, wet, dry, muddy, humid, windy, noisy, dusty, poor lighting, or ventilation).
  • Exposure to airborne particles such as wood dust and drywall dust is common in field environments.

Pay

This position is eligible for an annual performance-based cash bonus, calculated and paid in accordance with the Company’s incentive plan.
