Area Sales Director – West
About the role

We are seeking an experienced and driven Area Sales Director – West to join our Sales Team, reporting to the Senior Vice President, Sales. This senior sales leader is responsible for driving revenue growth, developing high-performing sales leaders, and executing the company's commercial strategy across the Western United States. The role leads Regional Sales Managers and their teams, fostering a culture of accountability, coaching, collaboration, and execution. As a key member of the Sales Leadership Team, the Area Sales Director partners closely with Marketing, Commercial Operations, Training, Medical Affairs, Finance, Global Insights & Analytics, and Human Resources to translate corporate strategy into exceptional field execution.
This is a field-based position covering the Western United States, including CA, AZ, OR, WA, MT, CO, ID, NM, MO, MN, KS, OK, and TX. Must live in territory; no relocation assistance is provided. Up to 60% travel is required.
Responsibilities
- Commercial Leadership
- Lead the Western Area to achieve or exceed revenue, market share, and profitability objectives.
- Develop and execute strategic business plans aligned with company priorities and commercial objectives.
- Drive accountability for execution through performance management, business reviews, and ongoing coaching.
- Analyze sales performance, market dynamics, competitive intelligence, and customer insights to identify opportunities and mitigate business risks.
- Ensure disciplined execution of sales strategies, promotional initiatives, and commercial priorities throughout the region.
- Foster a culture focused on customer experience, execution excellence, and continuous improvement.
- Leadership & Talent Development
- Recruit, onboard, develop, and retain high-performing Regional Sales Managers and sales talent.
- Build a high-performance culture through coaching, succession planning, talent development, and performance management.
- Conduct regular field coaching to improve leadership capability, sales execution, and customer engagement.
- Establish clear expectations while providing timely feedback and development opportunities.
- Identify future leaders and create development plans that strengthen organizational capability.
- Business Operations
- Lead territory planning, resource allocation, forecasting, and quota management across the Western Area.
- Monitor sales trends, key performance indicators, and operational metrics to drive informed business decisions.
- Ensure disciplined expense management while maximizing return on commercial investments.
- Provide accurate forecasting and business insights to senior leadership.
- Support annual business planning, incentive programs, and commercial initiatives.
- Cross-Functional Partnership
- Partner closely with Marketing, Sales Training, Global Insights & Analytics, Medical Affairs, Finance, Human Resources, and other cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and successful execution of business priorities.
- Provide field insights to influence commercial strategy, customer engagement, and future product initiatives.
- Participate in national sales meetings, leadership meetings, product launches, and commercial planning activities.
- Represent Evolus at industry meetings, customer events, and national and regional conferences.
- Compliance & Culture
- Lead with integrity while ensuring adherence to all company policies, industry regulations, and compliance requirements.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Life Sciences, or a related field.
- 10+ years of progressive pharmaceutical, medical device, biotechnology, or aesthetics sales leadership experience.
- Demonstrated success leading multiple levels of sales leadership in a geographically dispersed organization.
- Proven experience developing high-performing sales leaders and building engaged teams.
- Strong financial acumen, forecasting, and budget management experience.
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and CRM platforms.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in medical aesthetics, dermatology, plastic surgery, or specialty pharmaceuticals.
- Experience launching new products and driving commercial growth in highly competitive markets.
- MBA or advanced business degree.

Pay
The expected base pay range for this exempt position is $200,000–$225,000. Actual base salary will be determined based on role-relevant knowledge, skills, experience, education, geographic location, certifications, and other factors. Eligibility for a sales incentive compensation plan is included, with terms and conditions applying.
