Area Office Coordinator (Hospice)
About the role
The Area Office Coordinator (AOC) supports the operational success of multiple Care Hospice Locations within the Northeast Region, focusing on South Atlantic Area (Virginia) and Mid-Atlantic Area (New Jersey & Pennsylvania).
Responsibilities
- Supports consistent, high-quality business office operations across multiple hospice locations through training, tools, and best-practice guidance.
- Partners with Area and Program leadership to analyze operational and administrative data, identify trends, and drive process improvements.
- Serve as a key resource for EMR systems, collaborating with Education, IT, Clinical, and Operations teams on training, troubleshooting, and system optimization.
- Support accurate and timely payroll and billing processes by reinforcing documentation standards, resolving discrepancies, and helping prevent billing delays.
- Promote timely, accurate admissions and discharge documentation through audits, reporting, and HIPAA-compliant practices.
- Model organizational values and hospice philosophy through professionalism, collaboration, and compassionate service.
- Provides strategic support for system implementations related to acquisitions and enterprise-wide electronic medical record (EMR) rollouts, facilitating seamless integration, adoption, and operational continuity.
- Prepares and delivers comprehensive daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports in accordance with organizational requirements.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate degree preferred.
- Minimum of three (3) years of progressive healthcare administrative experience.
- Hospice or home healthcare experience required.
- Knowledge of hospice operations, healthcare documentation, regulatory compliance, payroll, billing, and office operations is strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or comparable software, as well as experience working in EMR and HRIS systems.
- Must be a licensed driver with an automobile that is in accordance with state and organizational requirements and is in good working order.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
- Able to take initiative, set priorities, multitask, and organize work.
- Self-motivated and detail-oriented.
- Able to travel a minimum of 50% of the time, with flexibility to accommodate additional travel requirements based on business needs, including occasional travel outside of the assigned territory.
- Skilled at delivering presentations and conducting training sessions for large audiences, both in person and through virtual platforms.

Pay
$50,000 - $64,000 per year (Average Pay Range). The pay range listed represents a general guideline for the role and is not a guarantee of the final offer. Compensation will be determined based on the selected candidate’s relevant experience and the specific responsibilities of the position. Final compensation rate will be discussed and confirmed at the conclusion of the interview process.
Schedule
The role requires the successful candidate to be available for remote work and to travel a minimum of 50% of the time, with flexibility to accommodate additional travel requirements based on business needs, including occasional travel outside of the assigned territory.
